APET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) Production and Use
Production and Use
APET (Polyethylene Terephthalate), used in the production of PET foil, is a material that has an important place in the plastic packaging industry. APET is the amorphous (disordered) form of PET and is generally considered an ideal material for thermoforming processes.
Production Process
APET is obtained by melting PET at high temperature and then cooling it into an amorphous structure. This process enables the production of APET in film or sheet form. Afterwards, the resulting APET sheet or film can take the desired shape through various molding or thermoforming processes.
Usage Areas
APET is used in a wide range of industries. It is widely preferred especially in the food packaging industry. APET is an ideal option for packaging food products as it has a transparent and rigid structure. It is used in the packaging of many products, from fruits and vegetables to frozen foods.
Additionally, APET's durability and flexibility make it preferred in packaging of electronic equipment, packaging of medical devices and other industrial applications.
Eco-Friendly Features
APET also attracts attention with being a recyclable material. When collected correctly, recycled APET can be used in the production of new products, reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact.
